With the slogan #moreismore, Blackstar launches the brand new and incredibly adaptable HT Stage 60 112 MKII tube guitar amplifier combo from their HT Venue Series. Let's begin with the sonic foundation of this amp: a 12" Celestion speaker powered by two ECC83s in the preamp and two EL34s in the power amp for a total combined output of a solid 60 Watts that can be toggled down to 6 Watts via the handy power attenuator. If you're looking to tone it down a little more you can use the two emulated outputs and the USB port on the back of the Stage 60. The first two let you route your sound directly to a mixer or pair of headphones while the latter offers a direct connection to your DAW.

Tone, Tone And More Tone

Do not let the many controls on the HT Stage 60 MKII scare you away, they're a lot less frightening than you might think. There are three switchable channels to which you can assign either a British or an American voice. This means that the clean channels offers up the choice between beautiful cleans with high headroom or the desired amount of chime with a little edge. The same goes for the two overdrive channels, whereby the American setting gets you a smooth and loud overdrive while the British voice retains that classic sound. Using the Infinite Shape Feature (ISF), you can adjust the frequency response with ease and the conveniently included footswitch allows for uncomplicated switching between the channels. To finish, this combo amp has been loaded with a reverb effect that can be set to dark (room) or light (plate). Need we say more?
