Sandberg California MarloweDK 5-saitiger E-Bass, Black Special Hardcore

Sandberg have developed the California MarloweDK 5-string from the ground up in collaboration with Youtube bassist, Thomas Risell (MarloweDK). If you've ever gone hunting for good bass technique tutorials, you'll know the name well. This ever popular online-teacher has opted for a 5-string J-model bass with an incredibly tight and heavy, black finish with specially placed pickups and very particular neck measurements. The MarloweDK 5-string comes complete with it's very own solid Sandberg gig bag.

The Finish of the MarloweDK 5-String

The California MarloweDK has been given a 'hardcore aged' finish to make it look a few decades beyond its actual years. The Sandberg technicians developed their own ageing methods to give their guitars and basses the look of long-long-tour-worn, yet well-loved instruments. The hardware as well as the paint-job have been carefully hand-battered to get the highly unique look as well as a convincingly vintage sound character, helped out by specially designed vibration transference across the body.

Pickups and Wood

The incredibly strong, unbelievably hard Canadian maple forms the neck of this 5-string and is bolted on with 5 screws for the highest possible level of stability. So stable, that it's virtually impossible for the neck of the MarloweDK to ever give in to temperature changes or humidity. The rosewood fretboard is finished with classic mother-of-pearl-style block inlays while the alder body guarantees strength, balanced tone and a manageable weight. The amplified sound is of course delivered by two very meticulously placed single coil pickups.
