Good wood is directly connected to the sound quality of an acoustic guitar, and the Yamaha LL6M ARE is cut from the right stuff. Hand-selected Engelmann spruce wood was used to make the solid top of this guitar, and it is joined by mahogany sides and back for powerful lows and mids, and an overall open sound. Thanks to the versatile sound characteristics, this Yamaha guitar lends itself to an array of music styles, from ballads to up-tempo pop to acoustic rock. Playing the LL6M ARE is as easy as pie, thanks to the supple neck and finely tuned action and string spacing.
Yamaha LL6 ARE: Traits
With its original jumbo-sized body, the acoustic volume of this guitar is powerful and compelling. Thanks to the SRT Zero Impact contact pickup by Yamaha, it's also easy to amplify. The pickup consists of subtle parts by each string, and doesn't have any hardware on the rest of the body, which means that you just have to plug it in and adjust your settings via your amp while keeping a clean, acoustic guitar look. A major factor in comfortable playing is the neck, and for this model Yamaha has given the neck a traditional profile focused on comfort. The 5-part mahogany/rosewood neck offers great grip and playability over the entire length of the fretboard.
Acoustic Resonance Enhancement and Improved Bracing
ARE is a type of wood-enhancement technology developed by Yamaha to give brand-new guitars that coveted vintage sound. The process adjusts the temperature, moisture and air pressure of the wood to alter the molecular makeup, giving the wood an aged character whereby you get the kind of sound and response you'd normally have to wait years for. Additionally, the interior of the body features an improved bracing design that boosts the lows without drowning out the trebles.
